The Project
A registered community garden charity in Derby needed its first website, built free as part of our free charity website offer.
Digging The Dirt is a registered charity (No. 1212052) running a free, accessible community garden in Alvaston, Derby. Volunteers meet every Tuesday, children come along to the Little Diggers Club, and the garden shares fresh food with local families through Food 4 Thought.
The charity already had its domain and email with us, but no website, so people could only find the garden through Instagram and Facebook.
We built the site as part of our free charity website offer: five pages in WordPress and Elementor, designed around the colours of the charity’s logo and its own photos of the garden, the raised beds and the volunteers.
Each page answers what visitors want to know: when to come, where to find the garden, what the Little Diggers Club is and how to help. A Google map, a contact form and a list of the garden’s supporters sit alongside clear buttons to volunteer or support the garden.
Digging The Dirt now has a website that shows the garden as it really is, with volunteering times, the children’s club and directions in one place, and a simple way for people to get in touch or offer support.
The website was designed and built for free, and is hosted and looked after by InfaCloud.
