The FED Foundation

The FED Foundation (the Foundation for Feeding, Education & Development) is a project of The Feeding Trust, a charity based in Alvechurch, Birmingham. It helps children get the fuel they need to grow, learn and participate, closing the gap between food provision and food participation.

They needed a website that explains their work to families, schools and healthcare professionals, and a members area where each of those groups gets its own expert videos, documents and community, with the content kept private.

We designed the public site around the charity’s four pillars (Community, Education & Training, Research, and Advocacy & Awareness), with clear routes for families, professionals and schools and donation calls to action throughout.

Behind the login sits a custom-coded members area built with MemberPress and Advanced Custom Fields (ACF). Every resource, whether a video, a document or a link, is managed in WordPress with ACF fields for its type, topic and audience, and MemberPress decides who can see it. There are three membership tiers (Parents & Carers, Schools & Community, and Healthcare Professionals), and each member only ever receives their own tier’s library, filtered on the server.

Member videos are compressed and streamed through a protected player: every link is signed to the member and expires, so a video can’t be shared or downloaded from a copied URL. The members area also has a private forum for each tier, a Meet the Community hub, events, a Find an Expert directory and a Manage Membership page, all styled to match the site.

The FED Foundation launched its new website in September 2026. Families, schools and professionals each have a clear path to the right support, and the members area is ready to open with 18 expert videos in the Parents & Carers library, viewable only by signed-in members.

Because the members area is custom-built, the charity’s team can add new videos and documents from WordPress and choose exactly who sees each one. InfaCloud hosts and looks after the site.
